We established Chiltern Capital because we wanted to take a fresh approach to private equity.
We are a small, experienced team that has worked together for many years. We have the energy and directness that can be lacking in large institutions.

Alex has a background in strategic, financial and operational management, having been COO and CFO of GSM London, a higher education college, where in 2011 he led a management buy-in with backing from Sovereign Capital, before leaving in 2015 to set up Chiltern Capital. Over his four years at GSM, the business invested heavily and grew turnover five-fold. During this time he raised two follow-on rounds of equity and debt funding to fund the business’ rapid expansion, and led a successful refinancing of the business in 2014.
Prior to this he was Group Finance Director of Melorio plc from its flotation in October 2007, creating value through a combination of organic growth and three targeted acquisitions, prior to leading its successful sale to Pearson plc in 2010.
He has invested actively in private equity opportunities for over 10 years. He has extensive experience of working with entrepreneurs to grow and develop their businesses, including successfully transitioning businesses to taking on their first external investors.
Alex qualified as a Chartered Accountant with PwC.
